Cocoa Beach Pier
This pier stretches out from the Florida coast near Cocoa Beach into the Atlantic Ocean. There is a margarita bar at the end of the pier, where you can enjoy an adult beverage and watch the moonlight dance on the waves after the fisherfolk have wrapped their reels for the day. We were standing beside this pier when my then-fiance saw the ocean for the first time.
Grafton Lighthouse
This lighthouse stands at the edge of Grafton, Ill. on the Great River Road. This drive is one of the most beautiful in the country, especially in the fall when the leaves are changing or when the sun is setting across the water.
River Canoe
This little boat was just waiting for me on the banks of the Mississippi along the Great River Road. For some reason, the scene just looked so much more interesting in black and white.
Discovery Bay
"This is where they say Columbus discovered the New World. Of course, we know they lie." Or so told our guide in Jamaica when he showed us Discovery Bay. It was our first trip to the Caribbean, first time snorkeling, and the first time I saw the sun set over the ocean. I was very careful not to drop my camera.
Under the Boardwalk
This pier stretches out from the Florida coast near Cocoa Beach into the Atlantic Ocean. I loved the way the light played underneath the pier at sunrise the day we left in 2012.
Heaven in Jamaica
The sea in Jamaica really is that amazing blue-green color. You know how people say you should close your eyes and think of your happy place when things get rough? This is what I see. I have many different shots from Jamaica; far too many to put them all up on etsy. If you have need for a particular beach shot for your decor, please contact me and I'm happy to share images of my work for you to select. I wasn't exactly working in Jamaica, but then photography has never felt like work to me!
Rend Lake Sunset
I caught this sunset at Rend Lake on my way through the Shawnee National Forest. Available in landscape and portrait.
Chain of Rocks at Sunset
The Chain of Rocks Bridge across the Mississippi River north of St. Louis has been closed to motor traffic for years. It's been featured in numerous movies, including ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, and features prominently in Route 66 history. It is currently accessible only by foot or bicycle, and makes for a very picturesque hike. The Chain of Rocks after which is it named roils the smooth Mississippi into a maelstrom of rapids just below the bridge. It makes for an amazing sunset walk.
Strawberry Moon
The strawberry moon rose on the full moon in 2016, and I was able to capture it as it appeared at dusk over Alton, Ill. on the Mississippi River. The Great River Road is one of the most beautiful sights in the country and photography often fails to completely capture its beauty.

Lake Yosemite
This serene lake lies near Merced, California, where I was born. We went swimming there when I was a little girl visiting my grandparents. This picture was taken at sunset in 2005.
River Castle
The "castle" in the middle of the Mississippi River is not really a castle, of course. It is a water intake facility for the Chain of Rocks water treatment plant, which opened in 1894 and is still open today. It stands in the middle of the river just south of the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge, which is famous enough as part of Route 66, now open to pedestrians and bicycles only. You might recognize it as the location where the final scenes of ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK were filmed.
Barge at Sunset
This river in Madison, Indiana simply fascinated me, as I caught a beautiful sunset after a signing in their town. The color along both side of the river was absolutely beautiful... and then it snowed the next day.
Lake Placid
This beautiful lake was the centerpiece of a lovely, hot summer day and a road trip across west Tennessee in 2010. Literally named Lake Placid, it has a covered bridge in the middle of the walkway across the lake.
Indiana River Sunset
I caught this lovely shade of the light after a signing in Madison, Indiana in 2014. I loved the natural beauty along the river on the Indiana-Kentucky border.
River Road Sunset
The drive along the Great River Road in Illinois is one of the great visual treats in the American Midwest. I caught a perfect sunset - with or without smokestacks - while driving north along the river to Grafton, Ill. in 2011.
River Boy
There is nothing a boy loves more than skipping stones on the river. There are few places where you can get right up to the edge of the Mississippi River, believe it or not, but this favorite fishing spot just south of the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge in Illinois is one of them.
Watershed Sunset
The Watershed Nature Center is a reclaimed landfill in Edwardsville, Ill. that has been transformed into a wetlands preserve and educational center. The walking trail around the water is a beautiful hike, with plenty of opportunity to observe wildlife. On this very cold February day, I caught the sun setting across the remnants of the winter ice. It was well worth the chill.
Chain of Rocks Sunset

I love shooting the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge. No matter how many times I'm there, I always get a different view. This sunset would not cooperate, but the silhouette of the old bridge's girders against the sky drew my attention
